Street Fighter IV

Street Fighter IV was the game that returned Street Fighter to the map. Street Fighter IV was released on arcades before being ported to consoles about six months later. The arcade version consisted of the cast from Street Fighter II: Champion Edition and four characters completely new to the series plus three boss characters. On the console release, six more characters were added. The game features a new 2.5D gameplay style, where characters and environments are rendered in full 3D but the gameplay is played in the fixed 2D plane of the old Capcom standards, with the camera only breaking away from it's fixed position during Ultra Combos and some Super Combos.

Versions

Street Fighter IV was subsiquently followed up with Super Street Fighter IV in 2010 and eventually Super Street Fighter IV AE in 2011. The information below only refers to the original Street Fighter IV.
