Introduction

Lud is one of 3 new characters to The Rumble Fish 2. A young man with Red and Yellow hair that tends to remind people of a chicken's crown. Sporting a Gauntlet on his left arm a momento of the Valor gang a once proud gang sporting many members now lud is the only one who remains.


Key

QCF - Down, Down-Foreward, Foreward

QCFX2 same as above just twice before you push the button

QCB - Down, Down-Back, Back

DP - Foreward, Down, Down-Foreward

HCF - Back, Down-Back, Down, Down-Foreward, Foreward

HCB - Foreward, Down-Foreward, Down, Down-Back, Back

P: any punch

K: any kick

Autoguard+N: The move will negate a number of hits as posted example: Autoguard +1 means it will negate 1 hit before he is hit out of the move)

Moves List

LP: Close/Far lud throws a right handed jab

SP: Close: lud does an odd looking uppercut with his Right hand Far: Lud does a Thrust punch with his Left hand

LK: lud does a netural step kick aimed at the midsection

SK: Close: Lud does a Sobat kick (jumping heel kick) Far: Lud does the usual roundhouse except with his left leg

F+LP: Lud will raise his armored arm and negate any high and mid hits adding to his Heat Meter can be switched to Low guard with Down-Foreward

DF+LP: Lud will Lower his armored arm and negate any Low hits can be switched to high guard with Foreward

F+SK :Lud does Step in Thrust Kick with his left leg (Wallslams)

DF+SK: Lud does a low dropkick aimed at the opponent's knee

(Super Jump ONLY) DF+K: Lud does a swift divekick can be followed with HP if your timing is good

2p :both punches

2k: both kicks

LP+LK: Shock Crush :Lud does a quick version of his far HP popping the opponent into the air for a free juggle combo (unblockable)

HP+HK: Advance Attack: Lud does a quick dashing HP (Best Used after a Close HK)

Special Moves

QCF+P Shoulder Tackle Lud charges foreward slamming the opponent with his armored shoulder (autoguard+1)

QCF+P --->F+P Shoulder Double Followup for Shoulder Tackle Lud does a Second Tackle going foreward

QCF+P --->UF+P Rising Shoulder Followup for Shoulder Tackle Lud does a Second Tackle going upward

QCF+2P: Heat Tackle (minimum 2% heat required) Lud does the same as above only this time his arm glows red it does more damage and the opponent catches fire when hit (Autoguard +2)

QCF+P --->F+2P Heat Double (minimum 2% heat required) Followup for Heat Double Lud does a Second Tackle going foreward

QCF+P --->UF+2P Rising Heat (minimum 2% heat required) Followup for Heat Double Lud does a Second Tackle going upward

DP+P Rising Shoulder Lud does a Jumping Shoulder Charge (think Brian battler's uppercut)

DP+P ---> DF+P Shoulder Dive Followup for Rising Shoulder Lud Dives down at a angle LP: 30 Degree Angle SP: 45 Degree Angle

F+P Flying Shoulder Followup for Rising Shoulder Lud Charges foreward in mid air good for corner escapes or mixup

DP+2P Rising Heat (minimum 2% heat required) Heat version of the Rising Shoulder

DP+2P ---> DF+P Shoulder Dive Followup for Rising Heat Lud Dives down at a angle LP: 30 Degree Angle SP: 45 Degree Angle

F+2P Flying Shoulder Followup for Rising Heat Lud Charges foreward in mid air good for corner escapes or mixup

QCF+P (from the air) Shoulder Dive LP: 30 Degree Angle SP: 45 Degree Angle

Hold any button for atleast 2 seconds: Machine gun blow Lud will throw a barrage of punches the longer you hold the button the more punches he throws you can hold all 4 buttons and do this move 4 times in sequence (but it isnt encouraged)

QCB+P Heatwave Lud claps his hands and launches a short shockwave of flame

QCB+2P Heatwave Deluxe (minimum 2% heat required) Lud claps his hands and launches a longer shockwave of flame

Super Moves

Power Up:

LK+HP Heat Maximum: Lud will go into 100% heat mode and stay that way for exactly 10 seconds or untill you do a Heat version of a Super or Critical Art

Offensive Supers:

QCFx2+P Gattling Blow Lud Raises his left arm then unleashes a flurry of punches. (Lud is Invincible while starting this super 14 hits)

Gattling Heat (100% heat required) Lud Raises his left arm then unleashes a faster flurry of punches (Lud is invincible when starting this super 25 hits)

QCB,HCF+K Anger Storm Lud rushes foreward in a crouch and throws a punch at the opponents stomach. if it hits he follows up with a variety of punches and kicks before ending with a thrust kick. (12 hits)

QCB,HCF+2K Anger Temptest Lud rushes foreward in a crouch and throws a punch at the opponents stomach. if it hits he follows up with a long chain of attacks each one sparking as lud begins to glow red ending with a thrust kick that sets the opponent on fire (26 hits)

Defensive Arts (all DA's take 2 def meters to activate)

B,HCB+ LP: Armor of Guard Lud crouches crossing his arms over his head and quivers with fire building around his feet, Any attack other than a throw or a projectile will cause lud to stand up letting off a burst of flame his heat meter is increased by a percent depending on the strength of the hit if he isnt struck after 4 seconds he stands upright

D,D,D+2K Cooldown(requires 2 def arts +100% heat and facial damage) Lud reaches into the pouch on his back and pulls out 2 bags of ice extending them foreward for everyone to see he then puts them on his face instantly melting them to water then throwing them away to reveal all facial damage is healed. (Unblockable dont be afraid to use it on wakeup)

He has a third Defensive art where he does a super version of his F+LP defense I dont remember the exact motion for it but it builds his Heat meter twice as fast per hit

Critical Art

(All moves listed below require 3 Pow and 3 Def meters)

QCB,HCF+P Delta Heat Shoulder

Lud points, rears back then does a heat shoulder completely surrounded by an aura of flame. if hit the opponent is launched into the air for a juggle of your choice.

Omega Heat Shoulder (100% heat required)

Lud points, rears back then does a Delta Heat Shoulder followed by two more D. Heat Shoulders (Think Brian Battler's Triple Tackle)

Secret Super

B, HCB, DF+K Lud Impact (requires 3 pow 3 def no Facial Damage and 100% heat) Lud Crouches down like in his DA but he isnt on fire after about 7 seconds he unleashes a massive backfist with his armored hand the blow is so powerful he shatters his armor in doing so. the armor remains shattered for the remainder of the game.

(Autoguard Infinite lud will take every hit while doing this super but each hit causes his super to do more damage it is VERY MUCH POSSIBLE TO KILL A CHARACTER OUTRIGHT USING THIS SUPER...ESPECIALLY MITO/ORVILLE/HAZUMA DUE TO THE DAMAGE THEY DO/NUMBER OF HITS)

The Basics

On first glance you would think lud is a brainless rushdown character, and you would be right. His chains are simple (lp-lk hp-hk-special/super) and do good damage on their own you can get maybe...4 out of 10 wins being basic.

Advanced Strategy

Now this is where you get into lud's ability to mess with people. For example the basic chain was the generic 4 hit. An advanced chain is (lp-lk-hp-hk-df+hk-qcf+p) in this combo you go high low high. From what he does onscreen some people dont expect him to be able to move after throwing himself on the floor. building off of that you can instead opt to do the dropkick early and if they jump you can cancel the dropkick with an uppercut or gattling blow. Now heres where it gets fun if they are looking for the dropkick you can instead do f+HK and get a wallslam off and maybe even a wallslam combo. Now we get to his second combat mode Guard Rape Lud. Lud has the ability to break an opponents guard 4 seconds into a round with his divekick->HP chain upon landing do a magic series chain (you know good ol lp-lk-hp-hk)and finish with any of the following: F+HK, DF+HK, QCF+P and their guard bursts like a sausage in the microwave. From there you should have atleast 1 offensive meter. Lud is happiest when he does some damage.

On the flip side of the coin if lud had no breathing room its hard to get going without burning meter...you will find yourself doing counter-press supers once you learn the timing on his invincibility...but dont rely on it as it isnt as long as it seems...and SOME PEOPLE -glares at hazuma- ignore it by moving lud untill his invincibilty ends THEN hitting him. and if they see it coming prepare to get dug into an even deeper hole.
